Improving Lives Through Quality Education

MISSION STATEMENT
"To improve the quality of life of our people particularly those of the rural minorities, through the provision of high-quality education that is accessible to all and relevant to the needs of the society."

This scheme came on-stream in 2008, and to date has supported 410 young Nigerians for secondary and tertiary institution.

Aims & Objectives

To uplift educational standards amongst young people with a focus on the minority/ rural areas particularly the less privileged and those children who have been affected by the various communal clashes/crises.

To support and encourage them towards the optimal realization of their potentials.

To invigorate the spirit and actively involve the Nigerian people in the realization of education for all particularly those in the Riverine / rural areas.

To give hope to such young ones and boost their confidence to pursue positive goals in life.

*

To inculcate in them a sense of belonging and responsible citizenship.

*

To provide logistics and support services to educational institutions in the minority/ rural areas towards improving standards.

*

Above all, to create a platform where individuals and organizations (public and private) desirous of giving back to society can express themselves through the provision of scholarship awards at any level and in any part of the country.

Foundation Scholarship Scheme:

Initiatives Description
Lagos State Beneficiaries
The administrative base of the Foundation is Lagos State; hence, the decision to extend its scholarship scheme to the area. Two sets of examinations were conducted in 2012 – May 10 & August 30, with the support of the State Ministry of Education. In a keen competition among 26 finalists from the six zones of the State, twenty were successful. The Foundation promptly took on the responsibility of seeing them through secondary school.
School Fees
To the Glory of God, the Foundation is happy to report that the school fees of all its beneficiaries both in Secondary schools and Tertiary institutions have been paid up for the 2018/2019 academic session.
HLF Pioneer Secondary School Leavers, 2008-2013
The Foundation is proud to state that majority of its pioneer HLF scholarship recipients – 2008-2013 — have completed their secondary school education, with impressive results. Many of them have since gained admission into the university.

The HLFSSSS is available to students duly enrolled in Junior Secondary School 1 [JSS1] of a Government-owned school.

The applicant is required to fill the HLF entrance examination form and score a minimum of 65% on the test. The form is distributed FREE-OF-CHARGE.
