In April 2011, the Foundation — in partnership with Focus Community Initiative — extended free health care services to a number of communities in Delta State. This pilot programme covered a period of 9 [nine] days and was conducted in Warri Municipal, Akurede and Ugbori.
The exercise recorded a large turn-out of all age groups who were attended to by a number of Doctors and Nurses. The people were enlightened on the implications of diabetes and high blood pressure as well as the essence of good dietary and hygienic practices. Free blood sugar tests and blood pressure monitoring were also conducted on those present; and necessary precautionary directives given.
In addition, multi-vitamins capsules, anti-Malaria drugs, analgesics and mosquito-treated nets were distributed free-of-charge to the people.
