BEST PUBLIC (GOVERNMENT-OWNED) SCHOOL IN WASSCE, 2011
Air Force Comprehensive School, Agbani was established on the 2nd of January 2002 as an all boarding and co-educational institution with an initial intake of 117 students into JSS1.
The school is situated about 35km from Enugu city in a serene town called Agbani in Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State under the leadership of WG CDR BT. OGUNTUNDE.
The first set of students in the school wrote the WAEC/NECO examination in May/June 2007. Since then, the performance in external examinations have been encouraging, WAEC 54.3% , NECO 71.4% in 2007, WAEC 92.4%, NECO 89% in 2008 and WAEC 86.1%, NECO 73.4% IN 2009.
The school has also made various achievements both in academics and sports. In 2005, she had the best audition in debate competition organized by the Federal Radio Corporation. She outshone other schools in Enugu State when she emerged 1st, 2nd , and 3rd positions in the first ever Enugu State Spelling Competition for Senior Schools in 2006. She also excelled in an inter school competition in 2007 agaisnt Pine Crest College Enugu where she came first in Speech Presentation, Quiz and Mimes Competition. In the 2008 Cowbell National Secondary Schools Mathematics Competitionm Junior category, the school came first in the whole of Enugu State.
Air Force Comprehensive School, Agbani is actively involved in sporting activities especially in the All Air Force School Games and has won numerous awards. Her performance in external examination is rated high in the JSCE, WASSCE and NECO SSCE.
Air Force Comprehensive School stands today to receive the award for the Best Public School in Academics WASSCE 2011.
